Midwifery Services

My services are monthly prenatal visits until 28 weeks, then every two weeks until 36 weeks. After the 36 week visit, which is in your home, visits are weekly in the office until you deliver. Prenatally, I monitor your nutrition, weight gain, blood pressure, and urine. I will also monitor the baby’s growth, position, and heart rate to make sure you and your baby are doing well. I will order all necessary lab work and testing as needed for your care.

I will provide first time families a series of three classes, one at 34 weeks, 36 weeks, and 37 weeks. For experienced families, I will provide one class at 36 weeks.

I arrive when you are in labor and stay with you until a minimum of two hours postpartum or until you and your baby are in stable condition.

I return to your home to provide postpartum care at day 1, day 3, and day 7 after the birth of your baby. There is a 3 week visit and a final 6 week visit in the office. It is within my scope of practice to provide “well baby” check-ups for the first six weeks.

Doula Services

A Doula gives support during your labor and delivery. I will visit you one or two times before the birth to discuss your expectations for the birth and support you through your labor and birth. I will stay with you until your baby is born and all is well. Following your return home, I will come and visit you in the post partum to make sure breast feeding is well established and to help with any new motherhood questions you may have. You also have unlimited phone support from me.

I will come to your home or meet you at the hospital during your labor, depending on what you prefer. Since I am a licensed midwife, I can monitor your progress and vital signs while we are at home; by being able to stay home longer, a good labor pattern can be established before going to the hospital.
